PADI Year One

The Professional Artist Development Initiative (PADI) is Watah's 1st year of a bridge program into professional theatre that provides both theoretical and practical performance training while enabling mentorship between emerging and established artists. PADI offers professional development to emerging Black artists (18-29) who write and perform. Artists-In-Residence study the Sorplusi Method and its three applications for a year which culminate in a production and publication of a bio-mythographical work of art. There are 6 Artists-In-Residence in the 2015-2016 season.
