PADI Year Two
The Professional Artist Development Initiative (PADI) is a 2nd year bridge program into professional theatre that provides both theoretical and practical performance training while enabling mentorship between emerging and established artists. PADI offers professional development to emerging Black artists (18-29) who write and perform.
The 2nd year deepens the work began in the previous year. Artists-In-Residence study the Sorplusi Method and its three applications for a year which culminate in a production and publication of a bio-mythographical work of art that they began creating in their 1st year. There are 9 Artists-In-Residence in the 2015-2016 season who completed 1st year.
